Sierra Breaks Ground on New Facility

On October 15, 2009, Sierra Detention Systems broke ground on its new facility in Brighton, Colorado. The new 38,000 square foot building, on 6 developable acres, will be completed and ready for move-in mid 2010. The building will house Sierra's office and manufacturing staff and their respective areas, several multi-purpose conference rooms, a model show-room, fitness center and a full kitchen. Brandon Borgmann, Work Procurement and Operations Manager, led Sierra through the joint development ageement and initiated the project. Managing Risk with Partnerships

Early in 2007, Denver County entered into a contract with Hensel Phelps General Contractors, Greely, Colo., to build the Denver County Justice Center on a guaranteed maximum price basis. The $290 million project consists of a six-story court house with 23 courtrooms and a five-story jail (with mezzanine) to accommodate 1,500 inmates. NAAMM Launches Detention Equipment Manufacturers Association

Kiawah Island, S.C. - The National Association of Architectural Metal Manufacturers launched its new Detention Equipment Manufacturers Association division at the Illinois-based national trade association's spring conference. As NAAMM's newest operating division DEMA will represent manufacturers of detention products, equipment, systems and components from security electronics and hardware to facility and detention components.
